PotatoFest

On August 31, 2013 Downtown Rhinelander Inc. and Tri-County Council-Lilys House will be hosting the very first PotatoFest. Our mission with PotatoFest is to have a positive community event that will gain recognition and popularity. We seek to highlight the potato and bring awareness to the public how vital it is to our area. Wisconsin is ranked 3rd in the country for potato growing and Rhinelander develops many types and supplies a high percentage of the plants used yearly by the growers.

The festival is a spud-filled day of activities such as a parade, a French Fry Frenzy, the YMCA Couch Potato Race, Little Litl Miss and Litl Mr. Tator Tot Potato Sack Outfit Contest, a potato salad cook-off and so much more. There will be a historic and education component, food vendors and live music throughout the afternoon into the evening providing entertainment for all ages.

Our sponsors, Trigs, NRG Media, Sowinskis Farms, and our partners, Frito Lay, Wisconsin Potato& Vegetable Growers Association and UW Madison Research Station invite you to this Spudtakular event of the season!

This is a community event so we invite all groups, organizations, clubs, churches or schools to participate by having a food booth or volunteering.
